"Can I thank Sycamore for giving ***** such a positive, educational experience placement for the last 4 to 6 weeks, she has told me how much she has enjoyed it and how it is helping her to manage her anger and behaviour"

Hi *****

Sorry I missed today, I was involved in some last minute recruitment!!

Can I thank you personally for your report, but also for the positivity you have demonstrated ever since we first talked about ****.  I know the offer wasn’t taken up in the first instance for various reasons, but I’m so glad both the school and **** had the chance to take this break from her normal surroundings as she was very much on a path of self-destruction.

I know we’re not there yet, but it’s a significant step in the right direction.

Have a great break and thanks again!

Kind regards

Hello *****,

Just a short note before we all break up for summer hols, I wanted to thank you for your support and advice.  I'm so grateful to you for taking the time for me and ****.

I will continue with the inclusion pathway for ****, I'm finding the process interesting so far, hoping to be further along and have a better idea about how we can move forward with this come Oct half term.

Have a lovely summer,

Best wishes.

Hi *****, hope you’re well,

As I’ll be leaving a few weeks just wanted to say thank you again for everything you have done for the young people I’ve worked with, and in the wider Navigate team.

As a school you provide such an inclusive and supportive atmosphere, to some of the most difficult to engage young people, I feel without Sycamore school in our Borough the stats for NEET children and perm ex’s would constantly be on the rise.

Both yourself and the staff team at Sycamore have always been supportive of the Navigate workers seeing our cases, staff are always welcoming and encouraging of what the voluntary sector try to achieve in our 1-1 work, I haven’t met a single staff member where I haven’t been able to pick up on their passion and sense of care to the young people & their families. Particularly with yourself *****, I have seen you go above and beyond for the children in your setting, you fight for what is best for them and most importantly you take the time to get to know them.

I have never heard a young person speak a bad word of you, and our kids as we know are brutally honest (especially when it comes to professionals!)

Even when calling through to reception, both staff and parents speak incredibly highly of *******, who I feel not only runs reception but is always there to offer support and reassurance to the parents-

Particularly when taking those difficult calls when a child is refusing to attend and the many challenges that come with this, parents know there is a understanding and supportive person on the other end of the call.

Also I would like to highlight that in the last 12 months in particular you had a number of young people all involved in the same police operation, as a school you have managed the many dynamics and conflicts of this group extremely well, and I feel that needs to be recognised.

I have also seen so many of my young people be reintegrated back into mainstream school for their GCSE years, this quite simply wouldn’t have happened without the Sycamore school or its impeccable staff team.

It’s been amazing to work in partnership with you all,

Thank you again.

Dear ******,

Thank you for your support with *****.

I think what has been modelled for Dudley CYP is really good.

Please thank your team for their support and providing the very helpful information.

As you will have noted, this has helped to change conversations with schools significantly.

I will continue to try and develop this work with schools.

Many thanks

Hi *****,

Just to confirm that following our recent conversation I will continue to make every effort to get **** to return to school but as you’re aware this is a very challenging situation at present. I have explained to both **** and his Mom that you have made every effort possible to re-engage **** with education and that as a school you have offered every possible support package available.

When I met with you and **** in school upon his return you made it clear to **** how much you wanted him there and how you would personally support him settling back in. I believe that the nature of the challenges **** has presented when he has attended recently have been in an effort to get excluded. Thank you so much to you and to the expertise of Sycamore staff in managing this behaviour and not allowing it to escalate further, however I do understand that becomes extremely time consuming and staff intensive.

I will continue to offer support to ***** in order to make a parental request for a Statutory Assessment for a possible EHCP. I will also attempt to get **** into school and arrange to meet with him there but as you’re aware Mom is now stating that he’s not coming in due to his Mental Health.

Thank you once again for your ongoing efforts and please don’t hesitate to contact me should you feel I can support further in any way.

Kind Regards,

Parents and carers quotes

To every single member of staff at Sycamore. You are all so, so, amazing on every level and there are no words to thank you enough for all you have done for my boy *****. Sycamore has been a guiding light in what has been a very dark year.

Thank you for seeing past my boy’s reputation, thank you for seeing “Him”.

It’s with a very heavy heart we say goodbye. School from day one in ****’s career until you has never been a happy experience. You have given us hope and a place where ***** has felt wanted and unjudged and included.

There can only be great things ahead for you all in both personal levels and as a school collectively, because people like you all cannot go unrewarded in this life.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for everything

I am so sorry end of term is crazy!

I have received and read the letter and report thank you. I did call today to thank you all at Sycamore for your support over the last few months. It hasn’t been easy but you have supported and given me more advice than anyone over the last 3 years so thank you all very much.

Take care and enjoy your summer.

Many thanks ******.

“*** has made great progress at this school and is now able to manage his emotions better – this is something he struggled with before he arrived.

All the staff at Sycamore have done an amazing job to help support ***in his new journey.

I can’t thank you enough!”

Much appreciated

“This school is brilliant, I just wish ***** could stay here for the rest of his education”

Ms ******

****** has been at this school for 2 years and has been very happy. They are excellent at informing me of any problems that arise and have dealt with any problems in a fantastic manner. Overall, ****** has enjoyed his time here and I’ve been really happy with everything. All the staff are very co-operative in everything that they do. So I’d like to thank you all for all your support over the last 2 years

Many thanks

July 2021

I really appreciate the help given by teachers at Sycamore School. ***** has been a lot more settled whilst being at Sycamore. I am sad that ***** has only been able to attend Sycamore for such a short time, as myself and family agree Sycamore is really helping *****
